In simple terms, the gospel is the "good news" of Jesus Christ. It is the message of God's love and grace for all humanity, offering hope, forgiveness, and eternal life through faith in Jesus. The word "gospel" originally came from the Greek word "euangelion," meaning "good tidings" or "good news."

 

The bad news is that every person has sinned and fallen short of God's glory (Romans 3:23). Our sinfulness creates a barrier between us and God, leaving us in need of rescue and redemption.

 

The good news or "gospel" reveals that God, in His love and mercy, provided a solution to our sinful condition. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a sinless life and bear the penalty of our sins through His death on the cross. Through faith in Jesus, we are offered forgiveness, righteousness, and the hope of eternal life.
